Openfiledialog Multiple Files C
Gets or sets a filter string that specifies the file types and descriptions to display in the OpenFileDialog. Jul 27, 2011 The Thing is I am just using the text/listboxes to display what I have selected, Now I need to Figure out how to use the files in the box to convert all of. Freecom Musicpal Software.
How to customize open file dialog to select multiple files with same order as user click the file. I am getting all selected files using openFileDialog.FileNames but it sort the selected file names to ascending order instead of selected order. To customize the fileOpenDialog control to behave as you want you will have to create your own custom control and add the desired features. You can either select a custom control from the Add New menu (I think this is the harder way) or you can create a new form and make it look like an OpenFileDialog window. In this new control (form) you can add each selected file to a list (first in, first out) in the order which you select the files. You can do this in the Mouse click event of this new form to add each selected file to your list in the order it was selected.
It's almost like re-inventing the wheel (recreating something that has already been created) -- except for the part that you are customizing this form to behave differently than the generic openfileDiadlog control. The open file dialog is actually provided by Windows itself. So it is unfortunately about 2 layers removed from any code you could write. The options you see are the options you got. It might be possible to get teh Window Handle and do direct editing, but that would require going into unmanaged code. And unmanaged layout mecahnics. And it might not be doable at all anyway.
Your two feasible options are: • Write your own OpenFileDialog. Any From can be used as a modal Dialog, if you just call it using ShowDialog(). Wich you would then have to maintain and wich would not adapt automagically to differnt Windwos versions (like the built in does). • Realise it works like cloaking in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Unvierse and just learn to life without it. @RichP123 Thanks for your response, your idea is good but even if we create new form which is similar to openfiledialog. The main function how to browse explorer or view files in that form.
If we want to browse files we need use OpenfileDialog or savefileDialog. If we use any of these two order is not maintained. Regards, Muthuraman Well, those are the options that are actually there: Use unmanaged code or start mostly from scratch. You might be able to inherit something from FileDialog.
But that is about it: The File and FolderBrowser Dialogs are simply not part of.NET in the first place. They are part of the Windows that the framework runs on. The Framework upon wich MSIL code is run on. The MSIL that is created from yoru sourcecode.

My suggestion (more specifically) was to write your own FileOpenDialog from scratch (sort of re-inventing the wheel type code). You create a form, use IO to read your files, use a listbox and add your own icons.
You will have to do a little bit of programming. You could go lower level and use unmanaged code (but that's a little out of my league at this time). My suggestion is at least an option. You don't have to touch the OpenFileDialog control at all. Hello, Have you tried my code or mental do runtime?
Because you need to try my code and see it during runtime. It does everything you want in the manner of Ordered by User Select.
ListBox1 provides the contents of the Directory that was selected via FolderBrowseDialog. ListBox2 contains all the selection from ListBox1 in the order you selected them. When you select an item from ListBox1 the EventHandler will check if ListBox2 has that item. If not it Add to ListBox2. If is present then it Remove that selection. The Order you select items from ListBox1 is directly presented by ListBox2. Then the Load Selected button Evenhandler does whatever you need to do with the ListBox2 items array.
I test all my code before posting for possible solution. If the code didnt work as you wanted then perhaps what you ask for was incorrect. As you stated in your replies, Re-Event the Wheel approach, is a good source for HowItWorks for learning purposes. Sorry the code was not what you wanted.
